Polish Telecoms Market: a survey by PMR Research

Research Project - IT and telecommunications
The publications division of PMR commissioned PMR Research to conduct a survey on the telecoms market in Poland, the results of which were presented in a report entitled "The Telecommunications Market in Poland 2005-2008". The survey, conducted by telephone in August 2005, covered 54 of the largest Polish telecommunications companies nationwide. Survey respondents included heads of marketing and other top management personnel such as CEOs, sales directors and various board members.

The following were the key objectives of the survey:
  • to assess the current situation in the Polish telecoms market,
  • to assess the perspectives of the development of key segments within the telecommunications market in Poland,
  • to obtain opinions as to the activity of the Regulatory Authority (URTiP),
  • to identify those factors with the strongest positive and negative influence on the Polish telecoms market,
  • to obtain an opinion regarding the entrance of a new player on the Polish mobile market - Netia,
  • to assess projections with respect to the development of 3G mobile telephony in Poland.
