PMR Research conducted a survey on the construction market in Poland, which survey was commissioned by the publications division of PMR (www.pmrpublications.com). The survey covered 110 of the largest Polish construction companies nationwide, as determined by 2004 sales revenue and employment figures. Survey respondents included the managers of marketing departments and other management personnel responsible for corporate sales policies. The survey was completed by way of telephone interviews taken throughout August 2005.
The key objectives of the survey are as set out:
- to assess the current situation in the Polish construction sector
- to gauge the influence of Poland's membership in the European Union on the functioning of construction companies
- to provide a forecast of financial indicators key to the construction market, including: construction and assembly output, building material prices, the level of employment in Polish construction companies, etc.
- to assess the financial standing and to review the investment plans of the largest Polish companies in the sector
- to pinpoint those factors deemed by respondents as crucial for success on the Polish construction market
- to define the greatest barriers to conducting business in the construction sector
- to obtain opinions on steps the government should be taking to improve the situation in the Polish construction industry.
